We are looking for a talented General Manager at Mare St Market Kings Cross
Location: Camden, North West London (NW1)
Salary: From £50,000 to £60,000 per annum Plus £20k Bonus
Mare Street Market King’s Cross is an 18,000 sq. ft retail space located at Lewis Cubitt Square. We offer a range of different experiences and we are known for our laid-back dining atmosphere, open kitchen, and all-day menu. You can find great brunch, Sunday roasts and loads of liquid refreshment.
We feature two kitchens and three bars, a restaurant & a karaoke room, as well as eight unique retailers including a vintage furniture store, a tattoo studio, a barber, a book store, jewellery shop, community radio station, florist, and an art print shop!
The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of our guest experiences, staffing including recruiting and development, cost control, compliance & licensing. The ultimate goal being to increase profitability by constantly challenging the current operations and researching and implementing new opportunities to increase revenue.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations.
- Be hands-on and lead from the front with exceptional hospitality standards.
- Manage and lead the team with high energy and a hands-on approach.
- Have an enthusiastic, warm, can-do, hands-on, and inspirational attitude.
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences and maintain a world-class atmosphere.
- Show excellent communication skills and the ability to work alongside the owner to develop ideas.
- Oversee everything from bars to kitchens and spaces to events.
- Keep a laser focus on P&L, balancing growth with the highest quality.
- Smash sales goals and develop killer strategies to keep the business ahead of the curve.
- Support colleagues and teams and to further develop the brand into something extraordinary.
Experience and Skills:
- 2 years minimum experience as a General Manager in a high volume venue.
- A fun and engaging personality with a serious commitment to hospitality.
- Strong leadership skills with a passion for learning and development.
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable interacting with guests, staff, artists/djs and reporting to the board.
- Understanding of stock, budgeting and GP levels.
- Ambition to develop the group.
