Well, not this particular late blog post, rather the first one I missed a few weeks ago which means I will be shelling out 500 shells to Shell. I could blame holidays, an increased workload, family pressures, or any number of excuses but none of that changes the fact that I didn’t get done what I said I would do.
Even though the Ulysses contract didn’t work out for me, I did discover a positive, energising effect from writing – I find the process enjoyable and it has a clarifying effect on my thinking. This is what I am going to lean on to get my posts in on time, instead of potential contributions to big oil and if that is the result of this experiment, it will be worth the cost.
My wages will be garnished over the next few months (£500 in one go is too hard to swallow) however, I am hoping however that Shell at least has some token greenwashing environmental initiative that will take the sting out of it a little!
